Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDISH Wireless is looking for an RF Engineering Manager who will build, develop, and manage theRadio Network team in their local market.
This team is responsible for working with the localdevelopment team to optimize and implement initial design using established RF planning standards and guidelines so that the market is built to a competitive standard.
This position will play a critical role in planning and building a cloud-native 5G network.
Key
Responsibilities:
Build and Lead a Highly Skilled Technical Team:
Hire, train, and develop a team of both employees and consultants Ensure the team is proficient in radio network planning, RF optimization, 5G network integration, and other relevant technical skills Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team Optimize Market Design:
Take the initial market design from the National team and adapt it to local market conditions Optimize coverage and performance to deliver an excellent product Utilize local knowledge, RF propagation analysis, and technical expertise to refine the design Collaborate with Local Teams:
Work closely with Site Acquisition, Zoning, Construction, Transport, and Program Management teams Coordinate efforts to develop, construct, and optimize the Dish Wireless network Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between the RF team and these other functional units Network Integration and Optimization:
Oversee the integration of 5G networks into the existing infrastructure Continually optimize the network's performance and efficiency Execute model tuning, ACP (Automatic Cell Planning) runs, and site selections to enhance network quality Consultation with National RF Planning Team:
Maintain a strong line of communication and collaboration with the National RF Planning team Share local insights, feedback, and updates regarding market conditions Ensure alignment with the broader organizational strategy and goals Skills, Experience and RequirementsA successful RF Manager will have the following:
Bachelors in technical/engineering discipline with 5 to 10 years of RF engineering experience and 2
years of managing employees as well as staff augmentation through contractors/consultants Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building skills Cellular / Mobile Technology proficiency:
3G/4G/5G LTE, NR theory and practical experience Solid knowledge of network design fundamentals and techniques Experience with drive test equipment, processes, and interpretation of results Strong RF and antenna theory knowledge Ability to work with propagation tools, build network plans, and interpret results Broad comprehension of all technical roles they manage Knowledge of other functional disciplines in market, including Site Development and Field Operations RF specific knowledge and skills desired include:
Planet, X-Cal, Tems, Nemo, Atoll, Windcatcher, RFDS, RF Antenna Theory, Cellular / Mobile Technology proficiency:
3G/4G/5G LTE, NR theory and practical experience, good grasp of of 3GPP and ORAN standards Knowledge of core network functions (DU, CU, RU, EMS, PaaS, IP Networks) and with the ability to evaluate/identify and resolve moderate issues Ability to prioritize tasks and deliverables and comprehension of downstream impact of decisions and trade offs Proficient in skills of good judgment, listening, decision making and project consulting Takes a proactive approach to risks and issues before they cause a negative impact to the build cycle timeline Ability to communicate, orally and written, with all levels (internal/external) Can structure communication of complex topics so that others can easily comprehend May present in large meetings Shows effective collaboration skills with senior management, other work groups, or vendors (project reviews, requirements reviews) Ability to build and foster relationships across markets and with the national teams Salary Range Compensation:
$100,625.
00/Year - $143,750.

The base pay range shown is a guideline.
Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
