As the Principal Business Continuity Management Leader, you will support the Medtronic Business ContinuityManagement (BCM) program focusing on building overall business resilience in addition to developing thecapability of an effective response to a crisis event.
The Minimally Invasive Therapies Group strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, fastercomplication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions. SURGICALINNOVATIONS sets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products andservices that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall,pelvic region, and the head and neck.
A Day in the Life
You will be part of the MITG OPS department leading the effective and efficient implementation and ongoingmanagement of Medtronic?s BCM program at MITG supporting manufacturing; ensuring compliance with the corporate policy and BCM standards.
You will also advise local senior management about key operational risks and guide the development ofinnovative and value-added risk mitigation strategies.
You will:
+ Develop BCM expertise and become knowledgeable about Medtronic?s BCM program, policy,standards/requirements, systems, and tools.
+ Promote local BCM awareness and provide BCM training and education throughout the local organization.
+ Manage the initial implementation of BCM at MITG OPS, establish scope and prepare project plan for implementing BCM at the site, guide critical business areas through a business impact analysis/risk assessment of their areas, advise site senior management of key operational vulnerabilities and help guide the development of appropriatemitigation strategies.
+ Facilitate the development of business continuity teams and plans for the site.
+ Organize a site-wide exercise to test the organization?s business continuity plans and train BCM teamson response processes and procedures.
+ Track completion of follow-up items to address any plan gaps/weaknesses.
+ Manage the ongoing maintenance of MITG OPS BCM program:
+ Ensure timely completion of risk mitigation projects.
+ Ensure risk assessments and plans are annually updated and maintained.
+ Facilitate the periodic testing of all team plans and key contingency strategies and track completionof follow-up items.
+ Ensure compliance and adherence to BCM policy and standards.
+ Maintain site BCM scorecard and report progress/top risks/compliance with standards to Corporate RiskManagement.
+ Partner with other sites within business sector supply chain to ensure consistent approach andalignment of continuity plans and contingency strategies.
+ Identify ways to embed BCM practices into existing procedures and processes throughout the organizationin order to increase overall resilience and make proactive risk management a part of the organizationalculture.
+ In the event of a crisis:
+ Lead the MITG wide site response; ensuring plans are executed according to established processes andprocedures.
+ Liaise with Corporate Risk Management to report on site impact and coordinate corporate response ifneeded.
+ After event, facilitate a formal debrief of the crisis response, complete incident report, and manageupdates to plans as needed.
Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or related field plus 7 yearsbusiness experience required; experience in manufacturing desirable.

?Ability to identify operational/business risks and propose solutions.
?Previous experience with business process assessment/improvement.
?Able to quickly develop a working understanding of all areas of business operations including keyfunctional processes and resources.
?Able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel, both in verbal and writtenmodes; solid presentation skills.
?Must have strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
?Strong influencing skills to present new ideas, promote collaboration and generate buy-in.
?Able to clarify and simplify technical aspects and highly complex information to managers and staff;strong coaching and training skills.
?Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and soundjudgment in problem solving.
?Demonstrated follow-through, initiative, attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement.
?Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint); proficient in the use of technology,including an aptitude for mastering new applications and training others in their use as needed.
?Due to the unpredictability of the purpose of this position, ability to work unusual hours during anemergency situation as well as be willing to be accessible during non-working hours.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
