We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals at our Mansfield, MA facility. Pay range is $27.85 to $30.17 per hour along with great benefits. Safety is our number one value and you must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of various kinds of metal and their properties is essential.
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
Set up components for welding according to specifications
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
GED/High Scholl required, vocational welding training a plus
Proven experience as welder including skills to:
weld various carbon and stainless steel using SMAW (Stick welding) and GTAW (TIG welding)
weld dis-similar metals in common joint configurations
weld thin wall materials (i.e. bellows assemblies)
weld pipes (standard and dis-similar materials)
weld CuNi and other nonferrous valve materials using SMAW and GTAW
perform various hard facing operations
weld and repair welding of castings
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Deftness and attention to detail
Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate)
Candidates will be required to take qualification test.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
