Legal Counsel III-US Non-Sales Contracting

Provide legal advice and support within the newly formed US Non-Sales Contracting Organization (within the Americas) to internal broad range of US business clients, and to coordinate the delivery of transactional services with other shared services and centers of excellence within Medtronic.
Demonstrated ability and experience to draft and negotiate contracts including without limitation procurement of a broad variety of goods and services, clinical research and development, Business Associate engagements, leases, licenses, real estate, construction, EHS, facility maintenance, journal licensed subscriptions, market intelligence, distribution logistics and transportation services, energy, product development, material transfer and related matters.
Demonstrated ability and experience addressing issues related to data privacy and security-both US and OUS, structuring and negotiating master commercial agreements across a matrixed organization, as well as Compliance, Regulatory, Quality, trade compliance, federal acquisition regulations and alternative dispute resolution.
Ability to design and deliver training and educating programs for clients as well as Legal colleagues within the Contracting Organization.
This position reports to the Senior Legal Director, US Non-Sales Contracting Organization.
This position can reside in any location with a Medtronic office.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Advise and counsel business clients on legal issues.
Draft, review, revise and negotiate contracts.
Identify and coordinate with external legal resources as required to provide high-quality legal services at reasonable costs.
Work collaboratively with other lawyers, paralegals and administrative staff to provide the legal counsel for the areas described above.
Collaborate with legal staff in multiple legal workstreams to develop and implement common approaches and templates.
Partner with various functional groups to manage risk and negotiate agreements.
Utilize and develop tools and process to manage a high volume of contracts and a large and diverse stakeholder base.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
JD from a nationally recognized law school
8+ years of attorney experience
Licensed to Practice Law
Experience negotiating sourcing-supply contracts
Experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts

Experience at a law firm and in-house

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
