Legal Counsel III - Non-Sales Contracting

Careers that Change Lives  Provide legal advice and support within the newly formed US Non-Sales Contracting Organization (within the Americas) to internal broad range of US business clients, and to coordinate the delivery of transactional services with other shared services and centers of excellence within Medtronic.   Demonstrated ability and experience to draft and negotiate contracts including without limitation procurement of a broad variety of goods and services, clinical research and development, Business Associate engagements, leases, licenses, real estate, construction, EHS, facility maintenance, journal licensed subscriptions, market intelligence, distribution logistics and transportation services, energy, product development, material transfer and related matters.  Demonstrated ability and experience addressing issues related to data privacy and security--both US and OUS, structuring and negotiating master commercial agreements across a matrixed organization, as well as Compliance, Regulatory, Quality, trade compliance, federal acquisition regulations and alternative dispute resolution.  Ability to design and deliver training and educating programs for clients as well as Legal colleagues within the Contracting Organization. This position reports to the Senior Legal Director, US Non-Sales Contracting Organization. This position can reside in any location with a Medtronic office. A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Advise and counsel business clients on legal issues. Draft, review, revise and negotiate contracts. Identify and coordinate with external legal resources as required to provide high-quality legal services at reasonable costs. Work collaboratively with other lawyers, paralegals and administrative staff to provide the legal counsel for the areas described above. Collaborate with legal staff in multiple legal workstreams to develop and implement common approaches and templates. Partner with various functional groups to manage risk and negotiate agreements. Utilize and develop tools and process to manage a high volume of contracts and a large and diverse stakeholder base.     Must Have: Minimum Requirements  EDUCATION REQUIRED: JD from a nationally recognized law school YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8+ years of attorney experience  SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Licensed to Practice Law Experience negotiating sourcing-supply contracts  Experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts Nice to Have  Strong Academic Credentials Experience at a law firm and in-house Analytical risk identification, evaluation, and management skills Flexibility, adaptability, responsiveness and collegiality Ability to perform in fast-paced environment Ability to accelerate change Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work on multiple projects, in diverse substantive areas, at the same time Experience working within a highly matrixed organization Superior common sense and exceptional judgment Integrity and strong ethical center Exceptional advocacy in negotiating Ability to establish credibility and develop strong working relationships with business partners and clients Capable of and experienced in effectively working in groups and with senior management An understanding of business objectives, strategies and relevant tactics Seasoned professional with sound judgment Exceptional oral and written communications skills Excellent decision-making skills     18000KLT

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
